VinFast, the Vietnamese electric car company, is making a big move in the United States. They've teamed up with a U.S. dealer, Leith Automotive Group, based in North Carolina. This partnership is part of VinFast's plan to sell more cars in the U.S.
In an interview back in August, VinFast's top boss mentioned they were changing the way they sell cars. They used to follow Tesla's way of selling directly to customers, but now they're trying a mix of direct selling and using dealers like Leith.
North Carolina is where VinFast has a huge $4 billion manufacturing plant. This plant is expected to start running in 2026.
Leith won't just sell VinFast cars; they'll also take care of fixing them, doing regular maintenance, and providing any parts the cars might need. It's like a one-stop-shop for everything related to VinFast cars.

VinFast started delivering electric cars in California earlier this year and made its debut on the Nasdaq stock exchange in August. They've been growing, and last month, they got 70 applications from dealers across the U.S. If these applications get approved, VinFast will have 125 places where you can buy their cars all over the country.
VinFast is entering the U.S. market at a time when electric car prices are getting a lot of attention, especially with big players like Tesla and many Chinese companies in the game.
Globally, VinFast sold about 13,000 cars in the second and third quarters of this year. Over half of these went to a company connected to VinFast's founder.
