TikTok Confident Despite Possible Ban, Introduces Cool New AI Features
TikTok stays confident despite possible ban and introduces new AI features. Learn how these tools help creators and small businesses reach more people.
TikTok is currently facing a possible ban in the United States, with appeal arguments scheduled for September 16 in Washington, D.C. Despite the uncertainty, Blake Chandlee, TikTok's president of global business solutions, remains positive.
"We're confident in our position," Chandlee said during an interview at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. "We believe the law is on our side, and we are eager to challenge the ban."
TikTok's New AI Features
Despite the scrutiny from US lawmakers, TikTok is continuing to innovate. Their latest launch, Symphony Digital Avatars, uses advanced artificial intelligence to help users create enhanced content.
"This is a big leap in the creative process," Chandlee explained. "We have been collaborating with creators and brands to ensure these tools meet their needs."
Launched this spring, Symphony Digital Avatars are part of a suite of AI tools designed to help creators expand their reach globally.
"These avatars allow creators to produce content in multiple languages, significantly broadening their audience," Chandlee said. "For instance, a creator can make a video in English or Spanish and then translate it into 30 different languages, reaching new audiences around the world."
These tools also let creators design various backgrounds and visual elements, boosting their creative potential. "Our aim is to empower creators," Chandlee added.
Positive Feedback and Advantages
The creative community has mixed feelings about AI. While some are concerned about copyright issues, others find AI tools make creativity more accessible and affordable. So far, the response to Symphony Digital Avatars has been positive.
Going viral in multiple languages also allows brands to maximize these moments through tools like TikTok Pulse, which places ads next to relevant content. These AI tools help smaller brands compete by making marketing more affordable.
"In the US alone, 7 million small businesses use TikTok to grow their brands and reach new audiences," Chandlee noted. "TikTok is making advertising accessible for everyone."
TikTok's Future
While TikTok is evolving into a more versatile app, similar to what Elon Musk envisions for X (formerly Twitter), Chandlee pointed out some differences.
"TikTok is primarily an entertainment platform," he explained. "We are adding features like shopping and live streaming to enhance the user experience. We will continue to innovate to make TikTok an integral part of people's lives."
Chandlee's comments emphasize TikTok's dedication to growth and innovation, even amid significant legal challenges.
