Indian AI Startup Presentations.ai Raises $3M to Simplify Deck Creation
Presentations.ai secures $3M funding to enhance its AI-powered platform, helping businesses create professional decks effortlessly.
Bengaluru-based startup Presentations.ai has secured $3 million in seed funding to enhance its AI-powered platform designed to streamline presentation creation. The company, which emerged from beta after attracting millions of users, aims to redefine how businesses craft professional decks with minimal effort.
Presentations are essential for businesses of all sizes, whether for client pitches, investor updates, or internal meetings. However, many professionals struggle with structuring compelling presentations efficiently. "People often find it difficult to create the first draft of a presentation," said Sumanth Raghavendra, co-founder and CEO of Presentations.ai.
Since launching its public beta in 2023, Presentations.ai has been adopted by over 5 million users worldwide. The platform leverages AI to automate deck creation, operating under a framework similar to generative AI models. "We want to be the ChatGPT for presentations," Raghavendra stated.
Founded in 2019, the startup gained significant momentum following the rise of AI-driven tools in late 2022. Within three months of its beta launch, it amassed a million users and has since grown into a profitable business generating millions in revenue.
Raghavendra’s previous venture, Deck App Technologies, aimed to enable business content creation on mobile devices but faced limitations due to the nature of content creation on smartphones. Drawing from years of experience and proprietary technology, Presentations.ai has positioned itself as a competitive player, even against industry giants integrating AI into their own presentation software.
"Our expertise in this field gives us an edge over others," Raghavendra emphasized. "Users who pay for our software have typically tried other options, including those from major tech companies."
After gaining initial traction, the company transitioned to a freemium model in early 2024. It now has tens of thousands of paying users, with subscriptions starting at $200 annually per user in the U.S., along with localized pricing across various markets.
Presentations.ai integrates advanced AI models, including proprietary small language models and text-to-image tools like Flux and Stable Diffusion, to assist users in generating visuals and structuring content seamlessly. Additional features include customizable themes, an AI-powered design assistant, real-time collaboration, and multilingual support. Users can also export presentations as PowerPoint files or PDFs for further customization.
To cater to enterprise clients, the platform includes stringent data security measures to prevent inaccuracies and unauthorized data sharing. It also offers private hosting options and organization-wide licenses for team collaboration.
With the new funding, Presentations.ai plans to develop a dedicated presentation agent that integrates with various applications and expand its enterprise sales team. Notably, the company has achieved its growth without any marketing expenditures and benefits from lower AI patent costs due to its proprietary intellectual property.
Currently, 20% of its revenue comes from the U.S., followed by India, with key markets also including the U.K., Germany, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East. The funding round saw participation from prominent Indian entrepreneurs, further strengthening the startup’s position in the AI-driven business tools market.
