Robinhood Markets Inc. said it plans to offer crypto perpetual futures to eligible U.S. customers in the coming months, with leverage of up to 10x on bitcoin and ether and 3x on several other tokens, according to trade-press reports of a company statement released Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026.

The perps product is not yet live for all users; timing was described as “in the coming months,” limited to eligible U.S. customers. As of Yahoo Finance chart data ~11:42 ET on Sept. 30, 2026, Robinhood equity (HOOD) traded near $114.47 (day open about $122.61; prior close $116.22)—an optional session reaction print, not a company metric. Separately, CoinDesk said rival perps-exchange token lighter (LIT) lost about 17% over 24 hours after the announcement; that is a secondary market print.

The Block, citing Robinhood’s Tuesday statement, reported that eligible users would be able to take long or short positions on perpetuals for bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), ADA, LINK, and HYPE. Leverage would reach up to 10x on BTC and ETH perpetuals and 3x on the other listed perpetual futures. The offering is to be supported by Bitstamp, with a promotional trading fee of 0.01% per trade through the end of 2026, The Block said.

Robinhood described order tools including stop-loss and take-profit orders, real-time liquidation-price tracking, and risk alerts, according to The Block’s paraphrase of the company statement. CEO Vlad Tenev was quoted on X via The Block as saying Robinhood is bringing “America its first true perps” with no expiry and P&L settled every 15 minutes, calling it a “new chapter for U.S. derivatives.”

The Block also noted industry context: Ondo Perps CEO David Wells told The Block in a Tuesday interview that he sees a “huge opportunity” for the U.S. perps market as regulatory and product avenues open.

Alongside perps, Robinhood announced plans for 24/7 trading of select U.S. equities and ETFs, pending regulatory review. That would extend the firm’s existing “24 Hour Market,” which currently runs from Sunday 8 p.m. ET through Friday 8 p.m. ET for hundreds of stocks and ETFs. Weekend 24/7 trading would start with a curated list and be supported by Bruce ATS, an alternative trading system, The Block reported.

The company also introduced Robinhood Agents, allowing users to build AI agents in-app for strategy development, research, or automated trading. The feature builds on an agentic trading service launched in May; Robinhood said more than 150,000 users have opened such accounts since launch, with agents using its tools nearly 30 million times a day. Abhishek Fatehpuria, VP of product management, was quoted saying safety and security are “at its core” as the firm sets standards for agentic finance.

CoinDesk corroborated the perps leverage tiers and related product announcements in Sept. 30 coverage. Separate CoinDesk markets coverage linked the Robinhood perps plan to the LIT token drop noted above.

Perpetual futures involve substantial leverage risk, including liquidation. This article summarizes company plans reported by trade press; it is not an offer of derivatives, not personalized investment advice, and does not recommend trading HOOD, crypto perps, or any token.
